First time Apple top of the line iPhone 11 model now being Made In India at Foxconn Plant near Chennai, according to The Economic Times report. The flagship smartphone company Apple is planning to start increasing production and exporting iPhone 11 handsets Made In India.
China made iPhone 11 already selling in India, but now the Indian government stepping up local production to make most of the Made In India opportunity, to reduce its dependence on China.
According to Reuters.com, Foxconn is also planning to invest $1 billion in India to expand a local iPhone production plant.
Apple CEO Tim Cook also told at a shareholder meeting at Apple Park to launch its own physical Apple Retail Outlet Store in India in 2021.
