Apple TV+ has ordered the new Apple Original series ‘Roar,’ starring Golden Globe winner Nicole Kidman, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award winner Cynthia Erivo, Emmy Award winner Merritt Wever, Golden Globe nominee Alison Brie, and more, from creators Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch and executive producers Nicole Kidman and Bruna Papandrea.
The new Apple Original series “Roar” is a collection of eight half-hour genre-bending episodes told from a uniquely female point of view, created by Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch (“GLOW”) and based on a book of short stories by Cecelia Ahern. The series is the first to be published as part of Mensch and Flahive’s larger Apple contract.
“In addition to starring, Kidman will executive produce alongside Per Saari via Blossom Films. Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, and Allie Goss, both Emmy Award winners, will executive produce on behalf of Made Up Tales. Flahive and Mensch will compose, direct, and executive produce the show. Theresa Park’s Per Capita Productions will serve as executive producer, and author Cecelia Ahern’s Greenlight Go will serve as executive producer. Endeavor Quality will create “Roar” for Apple.”
