ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 Features
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 is the first ROG laptop to include an ErgoLift hinge, which tilts the keyboard to a more comfortable angle. When you open the lid, the bottom of the display rises the back of the machine, giving the vents in the base more room to air. The design also conceals a portion of the lower bezel, however, this may obstruct airflow from the rear exhaust vents.
To compensate, the designers chopped vents into the bezel and increased the space between the rear heatsinks. It’s a tricky balance because increasing the gap increases the depth of the chassis while also making the hinge more vulnerable to downward pressure, necessitating a stiffer spring.
The monochrome palette and pixelated pattern have a purposely outdated vibe to them, yet they are surprisingly adaptable. Import animated GIFs and other graphics, create bespoke animations frame by frame and enter text messages in a variety of typefaces. Visualizations respond to music and other audio, resulting in a one-of-a-kind platform for DJs and other musicians. An upcoming upgrade will enable system functionalities such as displaying new email notifications alongside the date, time, and battery level. Combine different sorts of content for a more personalized look.
The back exhausts and heatsink fins are designed to drive air both up and down, away from the bezel and into the vents carved into it. Two additional outputs border the flanks, and all four are filled with ultra-thin copper fins as thin as 0.15mm. The narrow design allows for higher density while also reducing air resistance compared to traditional fins that are twice as thick.
In comparison to the 15″ model, there are 209 heatsink fins totaling 68,868mm2 of surface area. They dissipate thermal energy through a network of five heat pipes that cover the CPU, GPU, and VRM that power them.
A sophisticated algorithm controls fan speeds and adapts immediately to temperature fluctuations. Three perfectly calibrated operating modes allow you to swiftly adjust to varied settings with a fast keyboard shortcut, and Scenario Profiles automatically swap between modes based on your preferences for individual games and programs.
Turbo mode is ideal for maximum performance because it has the highest fan speed and frequency. Performance mode achieves a better balance for gaming, and Silent mode goes even farther to eliminate acoustics for light work and enjoyment.
The Zephyrus G14 extends wireless networking with Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+), generally known as 802.11ax connection. When used in conjunction with a suitable router, Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) increases peak interface bandwidth to 2.4Gbps and enhances efficiency in congested areas such as coffee shops and libraries. It also lowers latency, which means less lag for sensitive activities like online gaming, and increases upstream capacity, which means more bandwidth for live streaming.
Although its diminutive size, the keyboard is inspired by larger Zephyrus gaming laptops. ROG Overstroke technology activates key switches sooner in the stroke for faster, more responsive input, and N-key rollover guarantees that every hit registers, even when you’re hammering numerous keys at once. The form and location of the keys are also designed for accuracy and convenience. With the spacing that matches desktop layouts, you can fire off function commands intuitively, and reach things like volume and mic mute fast with dedicated hotkeys.
Multidimensional sound adds depth and direction to a variety of audio experiences, and it can even provide you a competitive advantage in games. Dolby Atmos technology boosts spatial immersion with simulated surround sound for both headphones and speakers in the Zephyrus G14.
Dolby algorithms are also tailored for the G14’s integrated speakers to maximize loudness and fidelity. Two tweeters above the keyboard focus high-frequency sounds at you, while two woofers beneath them provide deep bass boosted by the ErgoLift design. This quad-speaker arrangement produces precisely balanced sounds over the whole frequency range. You may increase the volume of movies, music, and video games without sacrificing clarity or detail.
