Google revealed new software updates for the Google Assistant in Las Vegas at CES 2020. A look at some new features:-
Scheduled Action
Users will be able to order the Assistant to perform a task in the future in this section. So, e.g. You can ask Google to play music from Spotify in the morning, at a particular time.
Smart Screen Reading
Now Google Assistant is able to read posts in long form. Simply say, 1’Hey, Google, read this page,” the page will also scroll with you so you won’t lose your location. You can translate it into 42 languages like Hindi. This function will be available later this year on Android 5.0 and later apps.
Ease of Access to Privacy Settings
Users will now have access to privacy controls by the voice assistant. Users can get answers to specific questions related to privacy and security by simply asking Google Assistant. Users can use the “Hey Google, remove everything I’ve said to you this week” command, and the Google Assistant can be quickly deleted. Now talk about an important aspect, Google is introducing new voice behavior correlated with privacy as well. Users will tell the assistant to forget what it learned by saying “Hey Google, that wasn’t for you.” Can you save my audio data by asking “Hey Google?”
Sticky Notes on Smart Displays
The new update to smart displays operated by Google Assistant. Users can now make on-screen household notes for family or friends staying at your home.
Extended Device List Support
Google also confirmed that the Smart Lock, Philips Hue HDMI Sync Unit, Telus WiFI Hub Routers, GE Appliances Ultrafresh Front Load Washer, MOEN Tub, D-Link Outdoor WiFi Spotlight Camera, Viaroom Smart, Somfy TaHoma Platform, Yeelight Staria Bedside Lamp Pro, and MerossSmart’s Garage Door Opener would be running on more devices by 2020.
