In November 2020, WhatsApp introducing disappearing messages which will let the user to new messages sent to a chat will disappear after 7 days, this will make more private conversation and feel lighter. Users can individually turn on or off disappearing messages in chats, but in the Groups, the admin will have full control over it. Note that, this setting will not affect messages you previously sent or received in the chat.
After enabling disappearing messages in WhatsApp at that time if users don’t open that WhatsApp message in the seven-day period, the message will disappear. When you reply to a message, the initial message is quoted. If you reply to disappearing messages, the quoted text will remain in the chat after seven days.
When a disappearing message is forwarded to a chat with disappearing messages is off, the message will no disappear in the forwarded chat. Whenever a user creates a backup before a message disappears, the disappearing messages will be included in the backup, but once the user restores the backup then the disappearing messages will be deleted immediately.
Before you turn on disappearing messages in WhatsApp, you must trust those individual peoples because some chat is important, you may not want to delete it. But you turn this on anyway, you should have to take a screenshot of that chat and save it in a safe place before it disappears, or copy that content and save it in other place or you can take a photo of disappearing messages with a camera or other device before it will disappear.
So how to activate disappearing messages in WhatsApp.
- First, open an individual chat or group, where you have to want to send disappearing messages.
- Then go to their profile, here you will see the disappearing Messages section.
- After you open that section, it will be showing you a pop-up message (you can see the below image), this pop-up will tell you the message will disappear after save days…
- Then click on continue here you can now turn on or off the disappearing message in WhatsApp anytime if you want.
