At CES 2020, Samsung announced the introduction of its new Portable SSD T7 Touch. Based on the USB 3.2 Gen2 standard, this blends an elegant, lightweight design with the fastest transfer speed currently available.
The new device also allows data security up to the next level with an additional hardware safety mechanism in the form of an integrated fingerprint sensor. Samsung also says the T7 Touch allows you to register up to four separate fingerprints, which means you can quickly share the drive with friends or teammates. T7 Touch has an indicator light displaying the plugged-in drive and transmitting data operation. The drive has a sturdy aluminum frame, which makes it resistant to drops up to two meters (6.5 feet).

T7 Touch is designed for professionals and casual users alike. Samsung T7 Touch has the capacity to securely store a large number of images, games, or 4K/8K videos, as well as the longevity to carry their content along.
The Portable SSD T7 Touch offers a major improvement in speed over previous storage devices. The T7 Touch can read and write speeds of 1,050 MB/s and 1,000 MB/s respectively, it is twice as fast as its predecessor, Portable SSD T5 (which I actually use), and 9.5 times faster than the standard HDDs. Using the NVMe interface, this T7 Touch can reach its full speed. T7 Touch provides Samsung SSDs with the first built-in fingerprint scanner besides password protection and AES 256-bit hardware encryption.
The T7 Touch is available in 500 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB black or silver finishes. Speaking regarding T7 Touch compatibility also comes with a Type-C USB to Type-C cable and Type-C USB to Type-A cable, compliant with Windows, Mac, and Android operating systems. T7 comes with a limited 3-year warranty, too. The retail price for the T7 Touch will be $129.99 for 500GB, $229.99 for 1TB, and $399.99 for 2TB, which will be available in Q2 2020.
