The new updates to Telegram bringing an Auto-Delete timer for messages in any chat where it can automatically erase messages for all participants either 24 hours or 7 days after sending that message. Auto-delete works only to messages sent after the timer are set, and previous messages will remain in the history of the conversation. The countdown begins when messages are received, not read, unlike in Hidden Chats.
To enable auto-delete messages on android, tap the three dots menu in any chat that you want to clear, then select the Clear history after that you need to choose the duration. On iOS devices, press and hold a message, then click on Select then choose the Clear Chat from the top left corner, where you can select Enable Auto-Delete. All messages will display a countdown to when they will be deleted; simply tap on Android or press and hold on iOS to see how much time is left. Please note that in groups and channels only admins can enable or modify the timer.

The new update also brings Home Screen Widgets where users can add a Telegram widget to their home screen, this Chat Widget will display previews of recent messages, while the Shortcut Widget will display only names and profile pictures. To add Home Screen Widget on Android, press and hold on your home screen, then tap widgets and search for Telegram, on iOS press and hold the home screen and then select the “+” button to add the Telegram widget or you can search for it.
“On Android, chats, and messages in the widget will always be up to date, and you can further expand the widget to take up more of your screen. On iOS, widgets will only get fresh data occasionally and can’t be expanded – this is due to system limitations,” The Telegram Team said.
Telegram also introducing Invite Links, where owners and admins can create additional links with a limited duration, number of uses, or both. The Invite Links can be converted into a scannable QR Code, and owners or admins also see which users have been joined using each invite link, so it will be figuring out where the new members came from or which format has most effective for reach out. Admins and owners can be able to view or manage invite links via Group or Channel’s Profile > Edit > Invite Links, then tap (⋮) or (⋯) to convert a link to a QR Code.
The new Unlimited Group Members feature lets users convert their Telegram groups into Broadcast Groups (unlimited members support) when groups reached 200,000 members.
“Converting to a Broadcast Group makes it so that only admins can send messages, but members can still join voice chats.”
Telegram also expand its chat import feature, now imported messages will appear sorted by their original date if added to a Telegram chat that s new or fewer than 1000 messages.
